LHS Choirs Receive "2" at State Contest

LHS Vocal Music Students Qualify for State!
Congratulations to the following LHS students who received a rating of 1 at MSHSAA District Solo/Small Ensemble Music contest on March 31st at Katie Haase, Allie McEntee, Ciara Jones, Aubree Young, Sydney Cox, Taylor Partain, Shealee Zesch and Alyssa Tangen. LHS Symphonic Pride with Straight 1's
The LHS Symphonic Pride Band recently traveled to Maryville for their State Large Group Contest. Despite being moved up to Class 3 they once again earned straight 1's from all judges, the highest possible score! Way to go LHS Pride! As Mrs. Prisby always says "Well played well played!"

Calendar and Make-Up Days
Lathrop R-II will have school on Monday, April 10th and will not have school on Friday, April 14th. We will also have school on Monday, April 24th as a make-up day for one of the days we missed due to the Tornado. The second day we missed will be made up on Friday, May 19th. Thursday, May 18th will be a full day of school. May 19th will be our last day of school. It will be a 3 hour early dismissal we will be serving lunch.
Summer Dead Weeks for Athletics
Our school follows MSHSAA guidelines in setting two dead weeks during the summer in which limited or no athletic practices can be held. This summer our first dead week will be July 1st - July 9th. There can be no athletic/sport team practices during that time. The second required dead week is July 24- July 28. Fall sports can not have team or individual workouts on those days.

The Little Mule Trail
Have you been wondering what the school is doing behind the Elementary? The Lathrop Garden Club has begun a project that the Elementary students have named "The Little Mule Trail" . This project involves growing a Butterfly, Bee, and Bluebird and Pollinator Habitat on the school property. Click on the title for more information.

For Sale: 17" flat screen monitors, various brands, $10 each.
For Sale: One "Hammer Jammer" for $100. A Hammer Jammer is a piece of weightroom equipment. Very popular with football programs a few years back.
For Sale: Dell Optiplex 755 with 2 GB RAM, no Hard drive or operating system. Built approximately 2008. Core 2 duo, 2.66 GHz (give or take). These are $10 each. You could buy a hard drive for less than $50, and we know of someone who would install it for around $20. So for less than $100 you would have a good machine.

In the past two years we've had ACT scores over 30, Academic All-State Softball Players, All-State Football Players, State Wrestling Champions, State FFA Degree winners, Poetry Out Loud state contest qualifiers, National Forensics Tournament Qualifiers, State Solo and Ensemble qualifiers, a Superior Band Rating, an Excellent Vocal Music Rating, State FFA Degree winners, Trap Shooting Champions and the list goes on.
