Asphalt Paving and Seal Coating Projects
The Lathrop R-II School District is taking bids on asphalt paving of the Administration Building parking lot, and a new walking path at the Lathrop Elementary School. We are also taking bids for seal coating of the Elementary and Middle School parking lots. Click on the title for more information.

Boys and Girls both take the Sectional Track Title!
On May 7th the Boys and Girls track teams both won 1st place at the District Track Meet. Saturday, May 14th they continued their winning ways by winning the Class 2 Sectional Track Meet at Albany. The LHS Boys and Girls Track Teams both won District Titles Saturday, May 7th at LeBlond. This is the 4th year in a row for the girls and 4 out of the last 5 for the boys! Click on the title for individual results.
Career Center Awards Night
Some of Lathrop R-II's students attend the Excelsior Springs Area Career Center (ESACC) for career and technical education classes. The ESACC held their awards ceremony Monday, May 2nd. Congratulations to the following LHS students for receiving special recognition:

Trap Shooting Team takes 2nd at State!
The State FFA Trap Shoot was held Saturday, April 30 at Linn Creek. Lathrop High School had 11 FFA members competing including Sami Cretel, Hunter Darr, Corbett Evans, John Ezell, Arizona Gallagher, Ashley Osborne, Danny Pope, Cole Riffle, Jason Shrewsbury, Collin Shultz and Reese Zollman.
Congratulations to the team of Cole Riffle, Hunter Darr, Jason Shrewsbury, Collin Shultz and Arizona Gallagher who finished as state runner-up out of the 75 teams participating! They received a team plaque and individual belt buckles. Way to represent Lathrop!
Mudd Advances to Sectional Golf
Congratulations to Jr. Teague Mudd for being a MSHSAA Class 2 District 8 golf medalist and qualifying for next week's sectional tournament!
State Music Results
Congratulations to the following students for their excellent ratings at the State Music Contest today! Vocal: Girls 8 group - 2 rating, Mixed Sextet - 2 rating, Taylor Jennings solo - 2 rating. Instrumental: Clarinet quartet -2- rating, Jacob Vanderpool clarinet solo - 2 rating, Alex May saxophone solo 1 rating. Way to Go!
State FBLA Results

Academic Decathlon Team Places 4th
The LHS Academic Decathlon Team placed 4th out of all schools and first out of Missouri schools in the 2016 State Academic Decathlon meet held January 23rd at Shawnee Mission South High School! Click on the title for more details and the list of the team members.
LR2 Students Sweep Congressional Art Contest..Again
Congratulations to Mandy Rader, Bree Saur, and Abi Painter for taking the top three art awards in this year's Congressional Art Contest! Out of 8 schools and 45 students entered, our LHS Art students took 1st, 2nd and 3rd place two years in a row! The girls received a personal phone call from our Congressman, Sam Graves today to congratulate them! Congratulations to them and their teacher Mrs. Haahr!

Drug Free Superstars
Congratulations to Dawson Beane, Sterling Evans, Maressa Fine, Audra Gustin, James Knifong, and Bree Saur who were chosen by the staff as this year's Drug Free Super S.T.A.R.s! From that group, two were chosen by a committee to be given a scholarship for being a Drug Free Super STAR. Congratulations to Dawson Beane and Maressa Fine for being chosen as this year's scholarship winners! All of the Drug Free Super STARs will present to the middle school and elementary school students during Red Ribbon Week. Special thanks to the Hamilton Bank and the Lathrop Rotary Club for donating the funds for the scholarships!

The Lady Mules are the 2015 Class 2 State Champions!
The 2015 Lady Mules Softball Team beat Portageville 1-0 on Friday to advance to the Championship game and on Saturday defeated Fatima 10-3 for the Class 2 State Title! The fan support in Springfield was amazing! Our fan base outnumbered our opponents in both games! That makes three Titles for Lathrop 1985 Boy's Basketball, 2009 Cheerleading and 2015 Softball! We will have two recognition ceremonies for the girls. First there will be a student assembly at the high school at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, October 28th. Then there will be a community pep really at 7:00 pm on Thursday the 29th in the high school gym.

In the past two years we've had ACT scores over 30, Academic All-State Softball Players, All-State Football Players, State Wrestling Champions, State FFA Degree winners, Poetry Out Loud state contest qualifiers, National Forensics Tournament Qualifiers, State Solo and Ensemble qualifiers, a Superior Band Rating, an Excellent Vocal Music Rating, State FFA Degree winners, Trap Shooting Champions and the list goes on.
